Tara Nasir Gore, Ph.D.
Director & Clinical Neuropsychologist
I am a neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist specialized in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who present with various academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
My areas of focus include assessing and diagnosing individuals on the Autism Spectrum, as well as treating any co-occurring social emotional and behavioral challenges with this population. My clinical speciality is also focused around the educational experiences and mental health needs of culturally and linguistically diverse populations. As a first generation Pakistani American, I aim to make mental health care more accessible to those in communities like my own where there is a greater mental health disparity. I am a native Urdu speaker and can provide services in that language.
My experience working in a wide variety of settings, as well as my background in school psychology, has shaped my approach to the evaluation and treatment process by working closely alongside family members, teachers, and other service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes. I take on a playful, creative, and down-to-earth approach to help my clients become invested and engaged in treatment goals. With a strengths-driven approach, I emphasize that we all have our own unique sets of strengths and weaknesses. Through the evaluation process we can learn more about how to utilize strengths, while also determining what supports can be provided to address weaknesses.
Outside of my work at Stepping Stones Psychology, I teach and train doctoral level psychology students at Fordham University as an Associate Adjunct Professor. I also provide counseling services to students at the Shirley Aninias School.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, kayaking, and traveling. As a native New Yorker, I enjoy feeling like a tourist in my own city and love finding hidden gems.

Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellow
I am a neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow and school psychologist with a PhD in School Psychology and an MSED in Bilingual Education. As a first-generation American, I deeply understand the complexities of navigating multiple cultural identities and the profound impact of language, heritage, and community on learning and development. My experience spans a diverse range of settings, from early intervention programs nurturing children as young as six months to day rehabilitation centers supporting individuals with physical and developmental differences.
My expertise lies in assessing and understanding individuals with varied learning profiles and needs. Having worked across public and independent schools, therapeutic environments, private practices, and clinics, I have had the privilege of supporting a broad spectrum of learners—from non-verbal students with severe developmental delays to twice-exceptional and gifted individuals. By recognizing each student’s unique challenges and strengths, I help them thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. Learning is a lifelong journey, and I am honored to supervise doctoral and masters-level students at Fordham University, mentoring the next generation of professionals in psychology and education.
During my free time, I find joy in reading, practicing yoga, baking, and traveling—embracing the opportunity to explore diverse cultures along the way. As a passionate foodie, I delight in discovering different cuisines and the rich stories behind each dish. My love of learning and deep appreciation for human connection extends into every aspect of my work, ensuring that every child and adult I support feels seen, valued, and empowered to flourish.
